About ITAS...

ITAS (In The Agent's Shoes) is a tool for use with RoboCup simulation league. It's a RoboCup agent that is controlled by a human user instead of an artificial agent. It does so by providing both a visual display (and possibly audio if needed) of the agent's environment and a control system to control the agent using the set of commands provided by the server. ITAS also logs the information received by the user and the commands issued by them. The display and control system will vary between different versions based on how close to the basic agent experience one wants to be; ranging from the simple objects seen by the agent and the simple commands provided by the server, to more complex visuals such as field awareness and advanced commands such as passing and dribbling. ITAS is written in Java, so it is platform independant.

ITAS can be used to generate data for machine learning for development of software agents, can also be used to train, test or challenge an AI team by allowing the human player(s) to create desired game situations through their actions (e.g. try different attack approaches to challenge a goalie agentís adaptability) or it could simply be used to get a feel for the agent's environment by placing the user In The Agent's Shoes.
